This week was my first week at Amara and I spent quite a while researching different types of blogs.

There are thousands of fashion blogs out there and they’re all the same sort of thing… until I came across this one.

When I was little I used to be quite creative.

I had my own sewing machine, I loved watching art attack and I would always trash the kitchen making some sort of paper mache project.

Over time I discovered money and boys so my love for arts and crafts kind of disappeared!

Upon discovering ‘P.S- I made this’, I was amazed.

This site is so cool!

It’s constantly uploading infographics and little videos on how to customise your stuff to make it look awesome.

IN ONLY A FEW EASY STEPS!

Here are some of my favourites…

Transform your workspace from total bore to Studio 54 with this set of mirrored desk accessories. For many of us, life sometimes seems like more work than play…so make it your job to step up and inject some fun. Lunchtime dance parties are a great way to let off some midday steam…but if you can’t escape the daily grind like these these New Yorkers…dim the lights, pop on the jams, and start a DIY disco at your desk! To create: Use a sharpie and outline the shape of your office supply onto a piece of paper. Arrange the placement of the mirrored tiles by placing them onto the outline until the entire pattern is planned out…think of the tiles as pieces in a puzzle. Using the outline as your guide, adhere each tile to its corresponding area of the object with a glue gun. It’s easiest to start from the bottom and work your way up. The pieces may sit slightly over the edge in order to eliminate gaps between the tiles. Have fun creating a complete set that will surely catch everyone’s eye!

Flip the switch on a staid old shade with the subtle but dreamy touch of ombré. Whether inspired by a beach day spent staring at horizon blues, or artist Mark Rothko’s gorgeous gradients, it’s time to light up a room with this heavenly hue!To create: Squeeze a dollop of the cornflower color fabric paint onto a paper plate. Starting from the top, paint approximately 1/4 of the lamp shade using a foam brush. Clean the brush, then dilute the paint by applying horizontal strokes of water to create a gradient. Work downwards until you reach the middle of the shade. Paint half of the bottom section using the cool blue paint color. Clean the brush again, then dilute the lighter color until you reach the bottom by applying more horizontal strokes of water. Take a dry brush to blend the entire shade with slow strokes to finish off your ombré design! Photo by William Brinson for Glamour Magazine

Make the dessert table at your Fourth of July fete just as eye-popping and jaw-dropping as the fireworks show. We created this refreshing summertime treat with Flour Shop to prove that you don’t need sugar and frosting to present your partiers with a slice of lip-smacking delight…talk about independence! To create: Slice a watermelon into three even pieces with a kitchen knife. Cut off the rinds and trim the slices into three different sizes. Stack the three pieces in size ascending order. Using the leftover watermelon, cut out star shapes with a cookie cutter, then place them on wooden sticks and insert into the top of the cake. Sprinkle coconut flakes onto each layer and top off by placing blueberries around the edges. Light up some festive candles and you got yourself another 4th of July sparkler! When the weather outside is frightful, you may as well look delightful…so combat Winter’s burr with a little bit of bling! When House of Holland sent adorable jewelencrusted beanies down the runway we were actually excited for the temperature to drop. And with a handful of delicious Galactic Crystal Beads by SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS at the ready, you can create your own look to kill that beats the chill. Keep warm and craft on! To create: Stitch each Galactic Crystal Bead by SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS onto your beanie with needle and thread. Double thread to fasten the beads securely. Keep the gems close to one another as they will stretch when the hat is worn. Get creative with embellishments… try buttons, beads, anything your head and heart desires.

So next time you’re bored, fancy being creative and want something to wear that nobody else has, go to P.S I made this… There is literally hundreds of ideas for all sorts of clothes, foods and housey things.

Check it out at psimadethis.com, it might inspire you to get creative… I’m thinking I could give the hat a go!
